Researchers
The Neuroscience theme consist of two sub-themes and groups
neurologists, geneticists, neuroscientists, radiologists and
neuropsychologists dedicated to research on central nervous system
disorders.
The Neurodegenerative sub-theme focuses on the
identification and study of frequent mutations in Quebec that are
responsible for hereditary nervous system and muscle pathologies,
on the composition of the Québécois genetic heritage
and its impact on the regional frequency of mutation carriers.
The Neurodegenerative/metabolic disorders
sub-theme focuses on the pathogenesis and discovery of
treatments by studying pathophysiological mechanisms through
cellular and molecular biology, neuro-imaging and spectroscopy
techniques as well as the cognitive functions associated with these
disorders.
