Keywords
Nephrology, renal transplantation, endothelial
apoptosis.
Research Interests
Characterization of paracrine mediators produced during
the programmed cell death of endothelial cells. Approaches include
cellular and molecular biology in association with proteomics to
characterize the paracrine loop induced by endothelial apoptosis.
Research findings enable the characterization of new mediators and
genes involved in vascular remodelling and contribute to a better
understanding of fibrogenesis mechanisms induced by endothelial
insult. Dr. Hébert’s work helps to better characterize
endothelial and vascular damage mechanisms induced by new
immunosuppressive therapies in transplantation and chronic renal
failure.
Since spring 2005, Dr. Hébert has directed a
multidisciplinary research team working on characterizing rejection
predictors. Funded by the Fonds de la recherche en santé du
Québec (FRSQ), this team includes biomedical, clinical,
bioethics and psychology researchers.
